Piétons Québec

    What we do

Piétons Québec is the national organization for the collective defence of pedestrian rights. Demanding, optimistic and inclusive, it advocates for safety and comfort for all people who travel on foot in Quebec. Because of the immense benefits, both individual and collective, of travelling on foot, it also strives to promote walking as a mode of transportation and increase its practice. Focused on collaboration and partnership, it raises awareness, mobilizes, equips and influences citizens and public decision-makers in order to transform social norms, the regulatory framework and built environments in favour of pedestrians.

    Our Mission and Vision

To improve the safety, comfort and walking experience of all pedestrians, Piétons Québec focuses its efforts on transforming the urban environment, regulations, and cultural norms affecting mobility, all the while promoting the value of walking as a primary mode of transportation. A centre of activity and point of reference for citizens and organizations involved in pedestrian rights and interested in their defence, Piétons Québec seeks to influence laws, standards and planning practices, striving to make our cities and towns more walkable.
