Austria
What we do
Walk-space.at was founded as a politically and religiously neutral, independent, non-profit, non-profit association to represent the interests of pedestrians in Austria, because Walking as an integrated part of overall transport should achieve the importance that is necessary in a mobile society.
Walking is moving Austria – starting with the overarching developments, such as climate change and rising temperatures, through to the details at intersections, the existing crossing needs, the waiting times at pedestrian traffic lights, the desire for good networks for pedestrians, the consideration of the sensitivity of pedestrians to detours and the desire for quality in public spaces for the residents of cities and communities.
We are working on attractive solutions, campaigns, making Ped-AWARDs, Walking Audits,Research, Newsletters (4.000 interested persons / Organisations) & Conferences, to get a sustainable, pedestrian friendly environment in Austria.
